The Claremont has a checkered history dating back to the days of the Gold Rush when a Kansas farmer struck it rich and built his wife an English-style castle on a hill. Guests become “members” of THE CLAREMONT CLUB during their stay, giving them exclusive access to the resort’s outstanding fitness and recreational facilities. The sprawling aquatic area is the finest in the area with two heated lap and recreational swimming pools, children’s wading area, jet-stream whirlpool hot tub and four saunas. The 20,000 square-foot fitness facility is unmatched with computerized aerobic equipment, a multi-purpose aerobic gym, weight machines, a Somatic Arts room, Pilates equipment, and over 66 mind and body fitness classes weekly, ranging from low-impact aerobics to yoga and dance. The Club also has 10 hard courts (six lighted) at its tennis center, with professional instruction is available year-round.

JORDAN’S at the Claremont is the resort’s Four Diamond award-winning restaurant with unparalleled views of the spectacular California sunset and twinkling Golden Gate Bridge in the distant enchanted sky. Executive Chef Charles Hechinger oversees a menu that emphasizes California cuisine with a decidedly French accent. Ingredients indigenous to Northern California are utilized, such as San Joaquin Valley fruits and vegetables, Monterey prawns, Napa cheese, Sonoma lamb, and bountiful produce regionally grown.

THE PARAGON BAR & CAFÉ is a casual dining alternative featuring the same stunning views of the San Francisco Bay with a large selection of hand-shaken cocktails, and a café style menu. The perfect place for a light meal, cocktails and appetizers before dinner, or dessert and an after-dinner drink, Paragon presents live jazz four nights a week and outdoor deck seating.

THE BAYVIEW CAFÉ, located adjacent to the swimming pools, serves lunch in a casual setting, also available al fresco. The menu features lighter fare such as salads and sandwiches.

Grand Gatherings

The Claremont Resort & Spa has 28,000 SQUARE FEET OF FLEXIBLE FUNCTION SPACE including 21 separate meeting rooms all with high speed internet access including the Empire Ballroom and the Claremont Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 500 people. The Living Room offers a relaxing residential ambience for meetings. Events can also take place outdoors or in the Claremont’s Poolside Arbor.

“FITNESS BREAK” options, also known as “GROUPTREK,” are alternatives to the usual coffee breaks including twelve 10-15 minute refreshers, such as Energizing Stretch & Breathing Break, Desk Drumming, Harnessing Chaos, Partner Stretch and Managing Your Energy. Energizer lunches complemented by lectures on nutrition are also available.

Additionally, The Claremont has partnered with Adventure Associates Inc. to provide on-site, year-round, adventure-based learning programs, ropes course, and traditional training workshops.

Wedding Traditions

For nearly a century, generations have shared wedding memories and traditions at The Claremont. It’s grand design, commanding views and romantic rose gardens have made the resort a favorite for weddings in Northern California. The newly engaged are welcome to tour the facility and meet with The Claremont wedding coordinator to discuss comprehensive and customized wedding packages offered through the resort’s catering department.
